1: Site Survey

An initial visit will be made to your business premises or home to discuss what you would like to achieve from a PV installation.

During this visit we will determine if the size, angle and orientation of your roof are suitable for a Solar PV system, with almost all roofs orientated between east and west being suitable for a PV installation.

The structure of your roof will also be assessed for its suitability to deal with the additional forces associated with Solar PV systems. Your electrical distribution board or consumer unit will also be inspected.

Your quotation will then be prepared using all of the information above in conjunction with the Solar Edge site design tool and other software as required.

2: Acceptance of Quotation

Commercial systems require a grid connection offer before they can be installed. Upon written acceptance of your quotation we will apply to the relevant DNO (Distribution Network Operator) for a connection offer for the proposed PV system.

Smaller domestic systems or systems under 11kWp can be installed without prior permission so we can usually book an installation date 3 or 4 weeks after your acceptance.

3: Installation

The first part of the installation is the erection of a scaffold so the team can safely access your roof. This will be done a few days before the installation team arrive.

The modules (and optimisers) will be secured to your roof using an appropriate/approved mounting system, should that be on a tiled, flat, or sheet metal roof etc.

The internal work sees the installation of the inverter, isolators and generation meter as well as some monitoring equipment.

The system will be fully tested and commissioned and connect to the internet for monitoring purposes.

4: Generation

You will now be generating your own electricity!

You will automatically be using the electricity supplied from your Solar PV system to power your home or business. We will register your system on the Solar Edge monitoring portal and give you access so you can track and monitor your systems performance.
